Admission Procedure

  • Welham Boys School welcomes applications from students of all backgrounds, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or social class.
  • All applicants must register for admission. However, this registration is neither refundable nor transferable..
  • Admission to all grades is contingent upon a proficiency and aptitude assessment, along with an interactive session involving both the child and the parents.
  • Assessment Criteria for Grades IV - IX: Applicants to these grades are evaluated based on their skills in English, Hindi, Mathematics, and Life Skills.
  • Assessment for Class XI Admission: Students seeking admission to Class XI are assessed in specific subjects depending on their chosen stream.
  • Note: Registering for admission does not guarantee a place in the school.
  • Assessment Schedule:
    • Assessments for Classes IV, V, & VI are conducted in October/November.
    • Classes VII, VIII, & IX have their assessments in January.
    • Class XI assessments take place in April & May.
  • Age Requirements:
    • For Class IV, the age range is 8 to 9 years.
    • Class VII applicants should be between 11 and 12 years.
    • Class XI candidates must be between 15 and 16 years old.
  • Post-Assessment Procedure:
    • Successful candidates are invited for an interaction session with their parents; attendance of both parents is mandatory.
    • • Selection is followed by an Offer Letter. Failure to pay the fees within the stipulated time in the Offer Letter results in cancellation of admission.
    • • Full term fees are applicable for all admissions during a term, including outgoing students in Board classes (Class X and XII).
  • Admission Policies:
    • The Admission Committee's decision is final and binding.
    • Admission implies parental consent to delegate authority to the Principal during term time and to the School Resident Medical Officer for health-related matters.
    • School rules may change at the school's discretion, and admission implies acceptance of all current and future rules.
    • As a secular institution, parents who disagree with the school's policies have the option to withdraw their child.
    • New admissions are on probation for one year. The school reserves the right to ask students to leave if there's insufficient progress due to idleness or other reasons.
    • The school has the authority to refuse admission or readmission.
